Indoor vs Outdoor LED Screen: Which Do You Need in Dubai?

Choose an outdoor LED screen in Dubai when the display faces direct sunlight or weather: you need 5,000+ nits brightness, IP65 sealing and coarser pitch (P4–P10). Choose an indoor LED screen for lobbies, retail and boardrooms: 600–1,200 nits is enough, no weather sealing needed, and budgets go into finer pixel pitch (P1.2–P2.5) for close viewing.

Brightness: Dubai sun changes everything

Dubai's direct sun demands 5,000–8,000 nits for legible daytime content; indoor screens at 800 nits would look switched off outdoors. Conversely, running an outdoor panel indoors wastes money and blinds viewers — auto-dimming helps but the panel cost is already spent.

IP rating and Dubai's climate

Outdoor panels need IP65 front and rear against dust storms, humidity and 50°C summers, with conformal-coated boards for coastal salt air. Indoor panels are typically IP30 and lighter, enabling slimmer cabinets and easier mounting.

Pixel pitch and viewing distance
