The Challenge
A UAE supermarket chain needed to modernise their in-store lighting and signage across multiple locations. The existing fluorescent fixtures consumed excessive energy, produced uneven illumination, and failed to make fresh produce and bakery items look appealing. They also needed digital signage for promotions and wayfinding.
Our Solution
Brightluxx rolled out an LED retrofit and digital signage package: energy-efficient LED panel lights for general illumination, specialised fresh-food LED fixtures with optimised spectrums for produce, meat, and bakery sections, and a network of digital signage screens at aisle ends and checkout areas for real-time promotions. The digital signage CMS integrates with the store's inventory system to automatically promote items nearing sell-by dates.
Results & Impact
Energy consumption decreased by 55% across retrofitted locations. Fresh food departments reported reduced waste as produce appeared fresher and more appealing under the optimised lighting. The digital signage drove a measurable increase in promoted item sales, with the automated sell-by promotion feature reducing food waste significantly.
